Power Air Fryer XL- New Healthier Way of Frying

I have used my share of kitchen appliances. Some are helpful and some seem to take up counter space. I have heard so many people talk about an air fryer, that I had to try it out for myself courtesy of Power Airy Fryer XL.

The first question I had was, what is this machine? The way I see it, it’s a “fryer” but without the need for oil. This way you still get the foods you like, just in a healthier manner. Don’t get me wrong, I still love a good piece of fried chicken, but can’t do that all the time.

Per Power Air Fryer: “The secret to the Power AirFryer XL is Rapid Air Technology. The Power AirFryer XL surrounds your food with Turbo Cyclonic Air instead of oil. Your meals are cooked in a whirlwind of superheated air, not oil or lard. That means ANY of your favorite fast foods can be made with fewer calories from added cooking fat/oil, without sacrificing taste. You get the same, crispy fried taste & texture you love. With little to no oil, no trans fats, and no greasy mess! The best part is the state-of-the-art digital touchscreen & 7 one-touch easy pre-sets for French fries, chicken, steak, roasts, shrimp & baked goods. Making your favorite waffle fries from childhood? Just press the French Fries button, and the Power AirFryer XL does the rest!

I was a little leery on how easy could this really be. I mean, just put it in, press a button and it’s done quickly. So, I put it to the test. The first thing I made as a roast. All I did was put a little olive oil on the roast and then a dry rub. Half way through the cook cycle I took it out and flipped it over. It was done in under an hour!

A really cool feature is that you can take it out to toss or check on it. The Air Fryer will turn off automatically, but as soon as you put the basket back in, it will turn back on. You don’t lose time as it will heat back up in seconds. There is a basket within the basket so, just press the button and it will release it. Making it easier to transfer onto a plate or counter.
So far besides the roast, I have made, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, chicken wings, and fries. I really can’t wait to make more things as the possibilities are endless.

Potato Chips:
  • Wash potatoes and thinly slice
  • Place in cold water for about a half hour.
  • Pat dry and sprinkle with salt
  • Place in basket and bake at 390 for 20 minutes

Tip: depending on how many, you may want to split the batch up into 2 or more to cook easier. They cool quickly but you can place on a cooling rack if you want.

For baked and sweet potatoes, all you do is wash them of course, cut a few slits. Then rub with a little olive oil and coarse salt. Place in the basket and cook at 390 for about 30-40 mins and they are perfectly done.

Wings are fast easy and good. In a bowl put some olive oil, salt, pepper and your favorite seasoning such as thyme, rosemary etc. toss the wings in the mixture to coat them evenly and bake at 400 for 20 mins, tossing them half way through. A friend gave me this recipe (hint, she’s also doing a giveaway for one on her blog, so make sure you check out the entry form and enter for a chance at her’s too.

If you need more ideas, Power Air Fryer has a huge section of recipes from donuts, to cheesecake, blooming onions and even chicken pot pie (I need to try that soon as it looks amazing).

Right now they have 2 sizes, 3.4 quart and 5.3 quart, and have the choice of red and blue. I have the smaller one and it’s still enough room for a dinner for my family of 4. Since it doesn’t take up much space, I can put it on the table to cook or on the counter.
Use PAF10 for a 10% off code when purchasing. The 3.4 quart is 3 payments of $39.99 plus shipping (or do one payment) or 3 payments of $49.99 plus shipping for the 5.3 quart (also can do the one payment option).

Please let me know if you order one and what you think after you cook with it. So far, I love it and makes some delicious food. I can’t wait to try even more recipes.
