Extended Stay America is There for Your Medical Travel.

Taking a trip for a medical purpose can be expensive. I’m not talking about the medical part, I mean all the non medical things that the family has to cover. When someone has a surgery out of the area where they live they have to have someone with them. This person can’t stay at the hospital with them, so they need to get a hotel room, food etc. It can add up quick. I love that I have found lots of hotels give discounts, but it still can get expensive. One of the hotels I have found is Extended Stay America. They are affordable and lots of room for those multi day stays.

Recently I had to have surgery. We had to be there 2 days in advance for pre-op testing and figured I would be in the hospital for 2 nights. Extended Stay America (Biltmore in Phoenix) was kind enough to host us, and then my husband (and my emotional support dog House). One thing to remember about Extended Stay is that you get a kitchen, not just a mini fridge. I’m talking a stove, and a full fridge. We walked into the room and was greeted with two fantastic gift baskets welcoming us. It was very kind of the staff to make us feel like the hotel was home while we needed it. I want to note that the bed was high (which is fine for me), and very comfortable!

If you need anything, all you need to do is call the desk and they will bring up cutlery, cooking items etc. It was great. The hotel even has an outdoor pool (my husband enjoyed it even though it was 115 out).

The room was clean and even while I was in the hospital, my husband said if he needed anything they were happy to help. We did end up needing something. My surgery didn’t go as planned and what was supposed to be a 2 night stay turned into 7 nights. We weren’t sure when I was going home. Extended Stay America was very helpful and extended the say daily as we needed it without having to change rooms. I know in the past this has happened and we had to move rooms. So a huge shout out to them for taking care of my husband and Dog during a very stressful time.

Extended Stay America has locations all over the US, so If you are needing to travel like we did for medical or vacation, I highly recommend them. They are quiet, spacious, great locations and very importantly affordable. Having a nice, safe and affordable place to stay can take a huge weight off any trip.

Have you stayed at one? How did you like it, good, bad how was your experience?

  1. We have used Extended Stays before. I am allergic to most foods, and can not eat out. Being able to have a full kitchen is critical.

  5. We've never stayed with them, but I love that should we travel in the US, there is a place that's reliable AND that has a mini kitchen. We need that to travel safely for all our food allergies.

  9. I love the Extended Stay hotels - it gives the family a sense of feeling like they're still home with the ability to make meals, have larger rooms so the family doesn't have to split up.

  17. Thank you so much for your review, we are thinking about building a house and it will be so far from our home, we had planned on staying at a hotel. This solution would be so much better. I have MS and having the convenience of a kitchen and not having to get out and eat out is great. I will be checking into these to see if they have any where we are looking at land.
