NestFresh Eggs will Make your Holiday Recipes Even Better

It’s the holidays and if you are like me you want to make the same foods like normal, but a few new ones as well. Nothing wrong with the comfort foods we all love. I just love to spice it up a little bit. Something as simple as an egg can do that. Most people I know, LOVE eggs and you can do so much with them, pretty much endless possibilities. NestFresh eggs, are ones you should be checking out.

Per NestFresh “NestFresh has a network of family farms stretching across the United States, which benefits farmers, communities, the environment, and egg lovers like you! This helps us give you the all-natural farm fresh taste you love, with none of the stuff you don't. It also allows us to provide jobs within local communities, support local businesses and reduce our impact on the environment. Our farmers give their hens the healthy, humane lives they deserve so we can offer the most sustainably raised eggs for healthy humans.”

They are available in Non-GMO Free Range and Pasture Raised varieties in local retailers, like Harris Teeter, Publix or HEB. Check out their site for even more stores and to find a location near you.

Scrambled eggs, fried eggs, and deviled eggs are so good, but I make those all the time. I love to try new recipes so with the help of NestFresh, I wanted to give you a few more ideas to try. Things like:  Savory Pizza Stuffed French Toast, Poached Egg Harvest Quinoa Bowls, Pumpkin Pecan Pie Bars, Gingerbread Loaf, Classic Croque Madame, and Smoky Sloppy Joes with Fried Eggs. I love a fried egg on a cheeseburger so why not on a sloppy joe?

Smoky Sloppy Joes with Fried Eggs

Quick, easy and always a favorite with kids, this hearty sandwich is seasoned with smoked paprika, then topped with cheese and a fried egg.

Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients:
2 tbsp canola oil
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 tsp each salt and pepper, divided
1 onion, finely chopped
1 red pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves
garlic, minced
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp chili powder
3/4 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup smoky barbecue sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp butter, divided
4 NestFresh eggs
4 buns, split and toasted
4 slices Cheddar cheese
Instructions:

1. Heat oil in large skillet set over medium-high heat; cook beef and 1/4 tsp each salt and pepper for 5 to 8 minutes or until browned. Add onion, red pepper, garlic, smoked paprika and chili powder; cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until vegetables start to soften.

2. Stir in tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, ketchup, 1/4 cup water and Worcestershire sauce; bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer for 10 to 12 minutes or until thickened and flavorful.

3. Meanwhile, melt 2 tbsp butter in nonstick skillet set over medium heat; crack eggs into skillet. Season with remaining salt and pepper. Cover and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until egg whites are just set for sunny-side up or cook until desired doneness.

4. Spread tops of buns with remaining butter. Serve sloppy Joe mixture in buns with cheese and fried eggs.

Tips:

Substitute Monterey Jack for Cheddar cheese if desired. Also delicious with ground turkey, chicken or pork instead of beef.
