Fall crafts with Duck Tape and Pilot Pen

Crafts are always fun especially if I can include my kids. So, for Fall and Halloween I wanted to do something fun and a little different with one of my favorite brands Pilot Pens and a brand most don’t think of Duck Tape and combine the two. Take a look and see what we created.

When people think of Duck Tape, they usually think of just people fixing things around the house. Well, you can do that. Or you can do some really really fun crafts like make your kid into a bumble bee. When I asked Fallon what we should make first she saw the yellow and black and said “BEE!” So, a bee it was. I mean, why not?!?

I had her in a t-shirt of course and started with the yellow. And wrapped it around in one strip around her waist. Then again higher up in stripes. I made sure to get her sleeves. Once I was done, I got the black. It wasn’t perfectly even, but not bad. One tip is, try not to make it too tight as it’s really easy to do so. Also try not to get it on their skin, you can tuck it over the color and such.

Once we were done with the bee costume, we moved onto decorating some mason jars. Fallon decided to decorate hers with multiple different designs. After she was done, she decided that she will put a few toys in hers. I went with a different approach. My mason jars double as a holder for my Pilot pens (I’ll talk about in a bit). One is a pumpkin and the other is a mummy. The mummy is really fun as it’s used with glow in the dark Duck Tape.

With so many options to choose from as far as designs, you can make just about anything you want. Fallon’s favorite I think is the mustache one and of course the really colorful. What would you make?

Pilot Pens are perfect for a project like this, especially the Gel Pastels. I used them on top of the Duck Tape to decorate my pumpkin and my mummy. They go on perfectly and fits inside the mason jars so well.

I put the other ones in the mason jars as well to be ready for other projects. For example, you can use them around Thanksgiving to make placements, at least that’s what I’ll be having my kids doing for something fun and festive.

I am in love with these. I only wish I had gotten a set sooner. They come in 16 assorted colors and its own little case which is perfect. If you have ever use a twisted crayon then you know that these are amazing as they twist as well. Working with them on the Duck tape was super easy. It probably would have been easier if my Duck taping skills were a little better, but that’s not Pilot’s fault. They can be used on a lot of different surfaces like watercolor paper and also canvases. So many uses and worth every penny.

As far as “regular” pens in the Enso line, these are one of my favorites. You really can’t beat the grip. Fallon loves the way she can write and draw with them. They come in 20 colors, so you have a ton to choose from. This is where imagination really can go crazy, especially when you have them make those fun placemats. You get colors like Aqua Blue, Blue, Light Blue, Sky Blue, Turquoise, Navy, Green, Apple Green, Leaf Green, Burgundy, and more.

Frixion Colorsticks are perfect for projects, because you can erase your mistake even though it’s in pen! With 16 colors to choose from, it’s really hard to go wrong and my kids love them. Not only that, they write so smooth.

These are also erasable which is super cool and kids (well and me too) love it. One of the cool things I love about Pilot is that, I find they don’t bleed through the paper, especially the Fineliner. These come in 12 different colors like Purple, Brown, Light Pink, Red, Periwinkle, Light Green.

With so many project you can make with Pilot Pens and Duck Tape what do you think you will do first. Also please don’t judge me on my skills, especially that mummy lol.
