Cami Kangaroo Children's Book REview

I don’t know about you, but I love when my kiddos read books that teach them something. It’s even better when they don’t know it right away. Stacy Bauer wrote a great series Cami kangaroo that teaches ours kids some great lessons like about having too much stuff, too much screen time and about having too much sweets. Check out all 3 books below.

Receiving this book was perfect timing. Fallon has so many toys it’s a little ridiculous. I have been talking to her about going through her toys and room and getting rid of a lot of what she has not been playing with. That’s why I love this book as it teaches how to be more organized. Kids can get a lot out of this book, but at the same time, us adults can learn a little something too at the same time.

After reading this book Fallon was much more open to a garage sale which was really cool. I’m so glad we read it and we are ready to go through her overflowing room and play room. Now It’s my turn to go through my stuff and get rid of my things.

Cami’s mom catches her eating out of a bucket of ice cream. I think all of us mom’s have caught our kids eating sweets they weren’t supposed to. With Cami, she can’t stop thinking about sweets. It’s such a fun book that also teaches such a good lesson about not having too many sweets and how it’s not good to get into other people’s candy.

Fallon loves her some sweets much like any child, so we talked about how much is too much. She just had a birthday and I baked a lot, so she had a little more than she normally would. She understood, now that her birthday is over that we need to go back to the normal amount of sweets.

This is probably my favorite of the three books as a parent. You can probably guess why. All three kids in my house are addicted to their phones and other devices. It’s like a drug from the time they get up to the time they go to bed. They used to be so creative and now all they want to do is watch Youtube or other things on their devices.

I absolutely love how this book shows that there is more to do than staring at your phone. It’s also a reminder to me as a parent to put my phone down. If you only buy one of these three books, I would recommend this one. Of course I would buy all three, but this is my favorite.

Please take a look on Amazon for Cami Kangaroo as Stacy did an amazing job on these books. I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next.

  6. This review, illustrations are really nice, kids if not monitored closely and controlled, prefer screen time to reading the physical book. Thank you for this article
