Have you ever asked your parents what they wanted for their birthday? At age 10 Katie Collins took it a step further she decided to write her mom a book and surprise her with it called All I Want for My Birthday.
In a perfect book that teaches us what is really important in life. How did Katie get so wise in her young age?
The book is actually from the mom’s point of view with a little boy asking her what she wanted for her birthday. A very interesting take in my opinion. The mom gives some very silly answers for gifts like farm animals or even a dinosaur.
They go through a lot of situations and the mom realizes what she wants most of all, her son.
At such a young age Katie knows that family is more important that material things like a toy that will be played with for a week and will be that will be long forgotten.
This is such a great lesson to kids and adults as well people are more important than things.
A little back story on Katie, she loved to cut and tape paper together to create 3D toys. Once she created a 3D Elephant using a cardboard box and paper. I wish I had a picture. It was very cute. She and her siblings love building things with Legos and building all kinds of buildings and creations in Minecraft.
Katie has also enjoyed drawing. Her parents signed her up for an online drawing class and she has made great progress. She really likes drawing Dragons.
This is a great children’s book that I’m sure your kiddo will love to get. Make sure you check out Amazon and order your copy today.

I spent the day with my family and my mom had us all over for dinner and cupcakes that my daughter helped make. :)
ReplyDeleteThis must be a nice book to give to my daughter as a present for her birthday. I am sure she will love it. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteA good read for youngsters learning to read for the first time. Helps to improve grammar and expand English vocabulary too.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a wonderful read for kids. I think it's important that we teach our children that things aren't what are important in life. People and relationships are.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that the book is written from the mom's point of view to help teach this lesson. We are the main models for behavior and values in our children's lives. Writing the book as the mom telling her son what she wants with that message is such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteNo plans
ReplyDeleteIt is truly amazing that Katie wrote a book to her mother. It would be the best birthday gift to her. I believe it is also a great read for kids too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a special book to let kids know that they can give special gifts that are from the heart.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have any plans. It's been a bad year.
ReplyDeleteAs of today, I have no plans for our birthdays
ReplyDeleteLove children's book reviews and this is a good one. Also, it's a great gift to give out this book during my children's birthday! - Knycx Journeying
ReplyDeleteI plan to send my mother a card for her upcoming birthday.
ReplyDeleteNo plans for any of our birthdays due to COVID, but hopefully next year we may go bowling.
ReplyDeleteHopefully by my next birthday there will be a vaccine. I am high risk so if there isn't we will be celebrating at home again!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool thing! I love when kids are able to show their talents in such a big way.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that by next August I can go to my favorite sea food restaurant with my friends.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have any plans. It's been a bad year.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom passed away years ago. I don't do much for my birthday due to my disability and lack of money. This year covid prevented my relatives from being able to visit due to social distancing and all the restrictions the virus put on everyone.
ReplyDeleteWith covid around and many places closed, a big celebration will have to wait...so it'll be a quiet, stay-at-home, order food in kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing the magic of reading does to mold little and big minds! It is also a way of communicating like drawing a picture does! This would be a wonderful gift . Drawings from my grandkids are meaningful keepers for us.
ReplyDeleteid really like a better birthday next year and to see my mom on her birthday.
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is on Jan 1st, last year we have a snow storm and the family had to work. I didn't do anything.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Love that the books can be brought from a site anyone can access. My kids would love to read it!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what the plans are for my mom's birthday or my next birthday. They are both pretty far out.
ReplyDeletemy moms birthday is in Febuary and think she would like a day shopping for new clothes
