Preserve Memories this year with Epson Expression XP-5100

My mom’s birthday is next week and this is the first one since she passed away, so a lot of memories come up. One of the memories is that of her meals were always so good. I’ve been wanting to save her recipes before something happened to them. So when Epson sent me the Expression XP-5100 it was the perfect timing as the printer has a scanner on it. Please take a look below at how I preserved some of her recipes and maybe this could be a great gift idea for someone on your list too. Don’t miss a fantastic recipe at the end. I couldn’t help but make one of the recipes.

When it comes to scanning, you need something to scan too. Epson has given us a few options which is very helpful. One you can use an SD card (which is what I did as I knew I was going to use different devices for the recipes), scan right to the cloud or right to your computer. I used the cloud option before and love it as you can access anywhere.

Once you select your method of saving you are good to scan. You just have to decide if you want it was a JPEG or a PDF, color or just black and white. I love that it gives you all these options, as I have used other scanners in the past and there is no option, it only does PDF. The JPEG option is awesome.

I was able to get a lot of my mom’s recipes scanned and saved in no time and now I feel so much better that they are safe. As you can see one of them is handwritten and I’m not sure how old, but I had to handle it very carefully, so it didn’t tear. Esther was her mom who passed in 1985 so I’m sure she wrote it a long time ago. The Wild Rice Soup is typed but looks like it came from some type of magazine or something. When I saw it brought back memories of picking out the VERY fresh wild rice on the tarp on our back porch. So of course, I had to make this soup and man did it not disappoint. It was delicious.

Printing

Printing is super-fast and very quiet, which I appreciate. Nothing worse with a printer than one that is really loud. I think one of the coolest features I saw with this printer is that it has hands-free voice-activated printing. You read that right, you can ask Alexa or Google Assist to print a variety of creative projects and everyday documents, including your to-do and shopping lists. I use both Alexa and Google and let me tell you this option is pretty awesome. Read up on how to connect your printer so you can too.

With other options like Epson® Creative Print App, you will be able to use this as a one stop shop.

Make sure you check out this printer at your local stores and think of anyone on your shopping list that may have a use like I do. It may make their Christmas.
