Welcome! I'm sure you're visiting from the Tmuffin Ooey Gooey Activity Box Giveaway from Tmuffin and wondering what else we did with this activity box.
As a pediatric Occupational Therapist, I work with children on MANY things. What's an occupational therapist? Well, according to the American Occupational Therapy Association, an Occupational Therapist helps people increase their quality of life by engaging them in purposeful activitys or interventions designed to achieve functional outcomes which promote health, prevent injury or disability and which develop, improve, sustain or restore the highest possible level of independence. In kids, this means I help them when they are delayed developmentally, teach them to function optimally when have difficulty processing sensory information in their environment, even help them work on basic life skills, such as learning how to dress themselves or handwriting.

coolwhip would be great on black construction paper
ReplyDeleteI wonder if we might could do sidewalk paint?
ReplyDeleteThis is really interesting. My 2.5 year old often doesn't like to get his hands dirty. He will still do all messy activities but he likes to have his hands wiped clean as they get dirty.

ReplyDeleteThat's really good information! I had no idea that "messy" play might be more beneficial. This is great!
ReplyDeleteThe tub, probably with brushes or sponges. . .
ReplyDeleteI would "paint" on an old tshirt or any old shirt that can be used as an art apron then :)
ReplyDeleteWe would paint on the back of our brick house!
ReplyDeleteAnd we would use sponges as tools!
ReplyDeleteSounds a great box. I think my son has sensory processing disorder - he loves to touching things and we have bath paints.
ReplyDeleteWe would paint on the front (glass) door. It would be awesome to see the shadows too when the sun hits our creations!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any children but this sounds like a great way to help those with or without problems overcome them (a bit at least). Those pics created by the kids are really good!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!
ReplyDeleteTissue paper fun looks cool.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun...especially for the driveway or tshirts.
