Thanks to all that have entered!

Welcome to the Under the Rainbow Giveaway Hop,
hosted by the Blogging Mamas Network!

From March 1st-17th, you'll have the chance to win tons of prizes from over 60 bloggers to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! So after you enter this giveaway, make like a little green Leprechaun, chase the rainbow, and hop around to all the other blogs participating in the Event! There's some great swag to be won!

What will YOU find Under the Rainbow?!

This rainbow leads you to a FANTASTIC pot of gold: An Amazing Art & Craft Activity Box for your little one, sponsored by the AMAZING Tmuffin. Lots of moms call these boxes "busy" boxes, but I call them boxes of MERRIMENT! Why? You'll see exactly what I mean below. Be ready for a pic heavy post!

About our sponsor:
Tmuffin is a small business located in North Carolina, owned by an amazing woman named Gaby. Tmuffin is not just a store, but a one stop shop for motherhood. Tmuffin offers products, but most notably, they offer educational classes and support for soon to be and new moms. The classes revolve around birth, safe and proper babywearing, play and parenting. They are in the process of moving to a new, larger location to be able to accommodate more participants and have a larger area for their Play Cafe. What's the Play Cafe? It's a play group that lets your child play with other children, participate in arts & crafts, or just let their imagination run wild. Needless to say, I am honored to partner up with Tmuffin for the Under the Rainbow Giveaway Hop and was SO stoked that Gaby was generous enough to offer one of her activity boxes up for me to play with review.

What Tmuffin says about Creativity, Art and their Activity Boxes:
We focus on the process, not the product. Crafting is an opportunity for teaching and connecting with your child. The crafts made with our Tool Kits are open ended, but we do provide detailed instructions and suggestions for how to use the kits, including tips on how to keep your little one’s attention span going for more than 5 minutes! The end result is always one of a kind.

Tmuffin surprised me with an Ooey Gooey Car Wash Activity Kit. These kits come complete with everything you need for at least an hours worth of fun. They come with instructions on how to get the fun started- from the markers, to the paint, to the container to mix things in, right down to a spoon to stir it with. If you're a mom without a single creative bone in your body, that's okay. I promise! These kits have step by step instructions on what to do next if your wee one's attention starts to drift or you get confused and have no idea what to do next. When I received the box, I first thought that the kit might be a little too old for Nugget. She's almost 19 months. However, I thought about it and realized that she does art projects and paints all the time at preschool. And, really, any activity can be made easier or more difficult based on the age and abilities of the child. Tmuffin provides a code that you can access exclusive tips, video tutorials, printables and even more detailed instructions if you need them through their website when you purchase an activity box. So, I decided we would give it a whirl.

What's the worst that can happen?
She eats the paint?
We make a mess?
We get paint on the sofa?

I'm totally not the mom that worries about ANY of that. Why? The paint is non toxic, and I'm certain she's had things more disgusting in her mouth before. Messy play is good play. Always being perfectly clean, prim and proper is what leads to sensory issues later in life (explained a little further below). And my sofa? IT'S LIGHT GRAY! Wanna know my secret? When we bought our sofa and loveseat, we were planning on having a family in the super near future. Like then. So, that took into account as to what we ended up buying. Guess what? It's a cotton slipcover. You take it off, put some pre-treatment (aka blue dawn dish soap) and throw it in the washer. Mess just doesn't bother me, it can be CLEANED UP.

Breathe mamas!

 Here's our car, before :)
And yes, I did the cutting.

Nugget coloring the car with mommy

Mommy helping to wash the car!

Here comes the slimey part!

In goes some paint!

Stir, Stir, Stir sweet girl! I know it's hard, but you're STRONG!

Look at that artistic determination!
Time to add some pain to our cars, and the table, and our faces, and...

The Finished Product

I know, lots of pics! But I wanted to show you how fun and easy this is!

Now, above, remember how I said that getting messy was good? That people that never let their hands get dirty, touch weird feeling stuff, won't even try something they're not sure how it feels? Well, check out my post with Part Two of the Ooey Gooey Car Wash and how I incorporated it into my pediatric Occupational Therapy practice.
