My Little Sandbox

I love finding cool new toys for my boys to play with.  I also love finding stuff that provides some sensory input for my oldest son who has SPD.  There are a lot of textures that he refuses to touch or play with.  Shaving cream or foam is an iffy one for him.  But sand is one of his favorite things to play in. He loves how it feels on his skin.  That is why I was really excited to get the My Little Sandbox to review.  We received the Doggy Day Camp box and it was a huge hit with both of my boys.

I was a little worried about the mess factor with this toy, but it comes with a plastic play mat and it helped some with containing the mess.  The box comes with several little doggies, a dog bed, a dog house, dog brush, a couple of doggie toys and a food bowl and a pooper scooper and rake.  It is so cute and my boys loved to pretend that the dogs were pooping all in the sand. They are definitely all boy. The sandbox is very sturdy and has held up well against my crazy kids!  We have had a few spills with the sand since we have had this, but I usually can sweep it up and put it back in the box very easily.  All in all this product was a great addition to our playroom and my boys love to get it out and play with it.  This would make such a great birthday present for a child.  Summer is coming up and I have several birthdays coming up, so I am always on the lookout for gift ideas.  I also love that this would be a great gift for a special needs child.  My son is crazy about dogs and he just loved all the small dogs that were included in this set. He insisted on naming them all and giving them personalities.  He has Asperger's and gets pretty engrossed in activities like this.
