My oldest was very train obsessed from the ages of about 2-4. I think he owned every train made during that time, and we saved them all. This is the reason that it is important to us to interest our youngest little man in trains. Recently, I was thrilled to be contacted to review the VTech Go Go Smart Wheels Train Station Playset. Even though this particular toy is stated to be for children, 1-5, my oldest- who is 6- was very interested in it. In fact I had to stop him from moving his little brother out of the way so he could play! You can see the more interested party in our video!
Facts from VTech about the Go Go Smart Wheels Train Station Playset:
· Go! Go! Smart Wheels enhance one of the most popular play patterns while teaching important learning skills, boosting imaginative play through cause and effect, encouraging interactivity and providing an outlet for good old-fashioned role play.
· All aboard on the Go! Go! Smart Wheels Train Station Playset! 32 interchangeable track pieces can combine into many different configurations as the included motorized train engine and cargo car chug on by.
· The included vehicle and other Go! Go! Smart Wheels™ SmartPoint™ vehicles (each sold separately) respond to 10 SmartPoint locations with different phrases, music or fun sound effects.
· Featuring a train station, conveyor-belt hill, bridge, tunnel, spiral ramp, track gates and track switcher, this set provides hours of cargo fun and imitative play.
· The tracks also connect to other Go! Go! Smart Wheels playsets (each sold separately) to encourage children’s creativity.
· Ages 1-5 years, MSRP: $49.99
Our thoughts:
Honestly, there is nothing here that we do not love! It is super fun and entertaining- the bright colors and moving, light up parts interest little brother. The mechanics of the whole machine has older brother fascinated. Helping put it together was the highlight of my oldest sons day! I think the favorite feature of all my boys- daddy included- was the cargo car that stops and picks up its load. I love that the train speaks in different languages, that the lights and colors and sounds stimulate all senses and keeps my little guys entertained. I know, if you are like me, Christmas thoughts are not even on the horizon, but this would make the COOLEST gift for a train loving kiddo for the holiday season. My boys have spent hours playing with it, and they are 8 months and 6 years- so it truly is the perfect gift for a multitude of ages. My advice, make sure you have a large, clear space and extra batteries on hand. The batteries sent with the toy does not last long, and the train playset does require 3AA batteries!
