Nickelodeon Suites Resort Review- A Vacation in Itself!

I often think that my children are lucky to grow up in Central Florida. They get to experience things on a regular basis that other children only experience on vacation. As often as we have visited Orlando, we have never experienced Nickelodeon Suites Resort, even though I have heard awesome things from friends! My two little boys, my Mom, and I were lucky enough to receive two nights at the Nick Hotel for review purposes on Mother's Day. It turned out to be as big of a treat for my mom and I as it was for my boys. We were treated to an awesome two room suite, the character breakfast, and we even got to attend the live Double Dare show!

On first arrival to the gate, we were greeted with a smile and, "Happy Mother's Day!" and that carried over the entire trip. Every single person we came in contact with was friendly and willing to do whatever it took to make our visit special. When we walked into the suite, my mom and I were both really excited to see how clean it was! You can tell that the cleaning crew goes above and beyond! There was a gift basket for my boys which included Sponge Bob plush toys! We had cold sodas in the fridge, and the resort also gave me a voucher for a free coffee at Starbucks and a free 5x7 family photo just because I am a nurse, and it is nurses month. I had no idea what kind of rooms we were getting so you can imagine my delight when I saw that it was a suite, complete with a kitchenette, bunk beds, and a king bed in the master. My boys were SO thrilled that our suite was Sponge Bob themed, and of course, my oldest was thrilled to sleep on the top bunk. The couch also becomes a pull out bed, so in all actuality, this suite is capable of sleeping six! We were on the third floor and faced the Lagoon, and as soon as we arrived, we got to watch a mass sliming! We immediately made plans for my oldest to attend that the next day.

That evening we watched the Double Dare Live show. This fun show is very interactive, and even though it was past my boys bedtime, they still had a great time. My one year old was so into the show that he was dancing with all of the other kids who were trying to get picked to participate. We watched the families get slimed and have to dig cherries, with their mouths, out of shaving cream pies! The show was really just a great family centered entertainment. I personally loved it because it reminded me of watching Double Dare when I was only a little older than my son!

After getting a good nights sleep on the VERY comfortable beds, we woke up and went to the Character Breakfast. The variety of foods available at this buffet style breakfast is sure to please everyone, and the entertainment keeps the kids happy! The buffet has the traditionals such as eggs, bacon and sausage. It also had oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruits, donuts and cereal. I personally loved the sausage and biscuits, while my mom enjoyed the grits. During the meal, the characters have a show every thirty minutes and come around to take lots of pictures with the kids. The experience of the show alone is well worth the breakfast price.

Later that day, we spent most of the day at the pool which has a kiddie play area, the Lagoon and the Oasis, and of course that fantastic water slides! My oldest ran from one slide to another, and I admit, I had a blast going down the slides with him! My baby, who is 15 months old, LOVED the kiddie area, and I loved that he had a safe place to play. It is padded splash pad, which also has two small slides for the little ones to have fun without getting hurt. The Lagoon is the part of the pool which has water sprayers and fountains. My six year old loved this area, because he could still swim, but the water was not over his head. The Oasis is more for the older children and adults because the water is deeper.

Of course at 4:45 pm we were waiting for my oldest son to be slimed. They had a little show beforehand, and everyone was amped up and ready to be slimed afterwards! That night, after the Water Slides and kiddie splash pad area closed, we went to our room. From the room, we saw that they had brought out a GIGANTIC TV to the pool area, and played a movie. The pool constantly had entertainment and shows. We saw the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and another show where people got slimed and had a blast! The pool offers Cabanas, which can be purchased, with televisions and refrigerators. If you do not feel like splurging on a Cabana, the pool offers ample seating, and even lots of shaded spots for the super pale people like me!

Nickelodeon Suites Resort seriously offers a vacation in and of itself! While many people stay here while attending the theme parks, I have found that you can have a ton of fun just staying at the resort. There is a Starbucks, Subway, Lagoon Grill, and Antonio's Pizza on location, so you truly never have to leave! There is also an arcade, which my older son and I spent about an hour in. You can also purchase a band for unlimited 4d movie experiences, which we would have loved to do, but we ran out of time. Our entire experience was amazing, from start to finish!! This was a wonderful visit, and it definitely will not be our last!
