Nio Tag

Have you ever lost a wallet, a purse or worse had one stolen? I have had a wallet stolen and believe me, it sucks. Bluenio contacted me asking for me to try out what is called a nio tag.

To describe the Nio Tag in a sentence is really hard, but I’ll try.  It’s a loss prevention device. Ok, it’s a little more than that. It is a device that links to your Bluetooth, and if you are separated from it an alarm goes off to alert you. That pretty much sums it up, but yet it doesn’t. When I was first asked to check it out, I was a little hesitant about it, but after looking at their site, I thought “this is a brilliant idea.”

You can hook the Nio Tag on to anything, a purse, a jacket, a wallet, and even a child. I know it sounds weird, but think about it. If you hooked it on to your child when you are in a crowded place and they step away, it alerts you immediately. You can set it for different distances up to 20 meters and when you don’t need it you simply turn it off. Hooking it onto something is as easy as clipping it to a belt.

Once you get it, you just download the app (free on itunes and google play) and connected it once it’s on. The battery life is supposed to be amazing with a 4 month charge. That alone was shocking. I mean, what stays charged for 4 months? To recharge it is very simple; it’s just a micro UBS port. It alarms you by vibration or an alarm. It even has a find my smartphone button for when you’ve misplaced your device.

It is a little pricy at $48.53 (sold in Euro’s for 34.99), but you did get a lot for it, and the peace of mind of not losing whatever you attach it to.

Here is a video to explain it a little and to see it in action.

  5. I need this for Large super stores, I shop faster than my hubby and he is always dragging his feet, He usually has to call me and say"where are you"?. This would be nice for him to have because in some stores you can not get signals and then he gets angry because " I wouldnt answer my phone". Also would be nice for the phone when the ringer is off because we spend at least 15 mins a day looking for my hubbys phone.

  6. This is a very interesting invention. You know what is also great about it with a phone - when you forget when you placed it you can find it. Of course, the fact that you can use it for children makes it priceless. Very smart invention.
