Rainbow Loom Bandz

The biggest craze for a pre-teen toy seems to be rainbow looms. I got some for my daughter as a gift and she fell in love with them and enjoyed making bracelets.  When Rainbow Bandz contacted me about their refill pack, I of course said yes. I didn’t tell Mya how many we was getting, just that we were being sent some. When she opened the box she was shocked to see that there were 9 colors with a total of 5400 bands!!! Needless to say, she was a happy kid.

I told her with all those bands, she needed to make something other than bracelets. We starting searching the best tutorial site, Youtube. I figured there would be tons of videos and step by step instructions. Since, both of us are not pros at making loom things, we needed something simple. A friend sent us a video on how to make a tulip. It looked easy enough so we gave it a shot. Turns out we did it right. We searched more and found a lot harder ones of all types of animals. We figured we would keep it simple for now and gradually work our way to harder ones.
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

The bands are fantastic and easy to work with and don’t break very easily. The colors we were sent give us lots of great options to choose from. We received:  red, yellow, green, blue, pink, purple, orange, black and white.  One of the great things is that you don’t need to use a ton of bands to make something. This way you can make even more.

If you haven’t heard of rainbow looms yet and have a daughter around 10 or so, I would buy them. They are very affordable. This pack of 5400 listed for $24.98 on Amazon.  With a few lessons from youtube, your child will be making awesome things in no time.

  1. This looks like a lot of fun for them. Good way to keep them busy and out of trouble too.

  2. I love your tulips. Great review, especially that this is something you can give to your preteen and spend time showing them how to make the project. Good craft for spending some time together.
