Medela just introduced an amazing program, Medela Recycles. This program focuses on helping moms who have finished their breastfeeding journey help another mom begin hers. Medela is working in conjunction with Ronald McDonald House Charities, which provide a place for families to stay that is close to their children, whether they are sick in the hospital or a new baby who has to stay in the NICU.
Not only does this program encourage mothers to properly dispose of their old pumps to keep them out of landfills, but every pump recycled goes toward the donation of two hospital-grade pumps (Symphony Preemie+ Breastpumps) and supplies to Ronald McDonald House Charities across the country. Medela has set a goal of taking in 12,000 recycled pumps this year. They are going strong at 6,525.
