While Out Black Friday Shopping Have Lunch at Zoës Kitchen!

I was recently contacted and asked to try out a new restaurant to me called Zoe's Kitchen, and since there was one local to us, I decided to go for it. I took my Mom and son out to lunch there, and we very much enjoyed our time there. In fact, it seems lots of other people do as well, because shortly after we arrived, a whole sports team arrived and it got really busy. The staff there handled the team well though, and moved them through the line really quickly.

Maybe you are like me and have not heard of Zoës Kitchen and want to learn more?

"Life" as we know it

Born in the Mediterranean and raised in the South, Zoës Kitchen is a natural extension of Zoë Cassimus' lifetime of cooking for family and entertaining friends. Our menu is inspired by Zoë's family recipes and her simple, fresh-from-the-garden sensibility. At Zoës, ingredients are delivered fresh through the back door daily. Our team hand-washes, cuts and prepares each item from scratch in our kitchen because as Zoë says, “if it wasn’t food 100 years ago, it’s not food today.” Nothing is fried and there are no microwaves! What you’ll find at Zoës Kitchen is Mediterranean-inspired food, where grilling is the predominate method of cooking along with an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs, olive oil and lean proteins; all while keeping our guests’ dietary concerns in mind-- with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.

My Mom and I actually decided on the same thing for lunch which was the 1/2 Gruben, which is a grilled turkey sandwich with swiss, slaw, spicy mustard on rye bread, and the Chicken Orzo soup. The sandwich was quite flavorful, and my mom and I both enjoyed it very much. The Chicken Orzo soap was loaded with large chunks of white meat, and had such a nice flavor. In fact, my Mom and I who both overuse salt, needed none with this soup. It definitely had a Mediterranean flavor to it, and I think I caught a hint of lime. My son had the grilled chicken strips, and a fruit cup. I ended up helping him eat his, and that was also full of flavor and very tender. We then split a chocolate chip cookie which is massive, and loaded with chocolate. I think the loaded with chocolate speaks for itself, and I will tell you, it was DELICIOUS! My son and I were fighting for the last bite (he won!) The fresh squeezed limeade was amazing as well!

Overall, our experience was a really nice one, and I cannot wait for my husband to pick up the family deal one day soon for our dinner so Mommy doesn't have to cook! I highly recommend you checking out Zoes Kitchen while you are out on your black friday shopping and your tummy gets to pinching!
