It’s the holidays which means parties and gifts. This post covers both of those topics. This post is to talk about a few drink ideas, and you can use those as gifts as well.
Pineapple Hot Toddy
Hot Toddy’s are perfect this time of year, especially in the north where it’s cold. Finding the rum you like can be the hard part. For this Pineapple Hot Toddy, I used Pineapple rum from Maggie's Farm Rum. They are from Pennsylvania and have won many awards including Best-in-Class Rum. Being flavored i thought it might be overpowering but it’s not. It's just the perfect blend. To make your own Pineapple Hot Toddy, follow the recipe below.
Ingredients: (serves 2-3)
1 3/4 cup water
½ cup pineapple juice (or even pineapple mango)
½ cup pineapple rum
½ teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2-3 Cinnamon stick
½ cup milk
Directions:
In a medium saucepan, combine juice, water and rum . cook on medium heat until well mixed together.
Add honey, cinnamon and vanilla and cook on low to medium heat for about 5 minutes.
Warm the milk while the other is cooking.
Add mixture to glasses and then add the milk to each glass.
Stir with cinnamon stick
Hot Whiskey
Hot Whiskey, or as some know it, Irish Hot Whiskey is super easy to make and oh so good on a cold night. Brothership Whiskey has the best of 2 worlds; Irish and American Whiskies. Pair the bitterness with the lemon, cloves and then the sweet of the brown sugar. That’s what you want to be sipping on at the end of the night.
1.5 oz whiskey
2 teaspoons brown sugar
Lemon wedge
4-6 whole cloves
¾ cup boiling hot water
Directions
Slice the lemon and add a few cloves to the wedge
Preheat your glass. You can do this by running hot water in it
Add brown sugar into the glass, then the whiskey.
Place the lemon wedge on top of that mixture
Top it off with the boiling water and stir gently to mix it all together
Cherry liquor Hot Chocolate
I love me some hot chocolate. When you have a bunch of adults together, sometimes you want to just spice it up a little. This is where CERASUM is perfect. It’s cherry liqueur using 3 different types of cherries, along with Sakura blossoms and other herbs. Mixing this with hot chocolate and topping it with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and maybe a cherry will have your party guests wanting more.
Ingredients: (serves 2)
1 ½ cups milk
Hot chocolate mix
2 oz cherry liqueur
Whipped cream (optional)
Chocolate shavings
Directions
Heat the milk and hot chocolate mix in a small saucepan until it starts to steam
Place 1 oz of cherry liqueur into each glass
Pour hot chocolate mix into each glass
Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and if you want a cherry
You can get all 3 for gifts or just one. My tip is to get a few bottles for the party and put in gift bags. I’m sure you will be a huge hit!
Yum! Those drinks look so good! I especially love the hot chocolate drink! I could drink a few of those right now!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of hot toddy's but have never seen a pineapple one. I bet it tastes like pineapple upside down cake fresh out of the oven. Yum! It sounds amazing. And oh my goodness - that Cherry liquor hot chocolate sounds heavenly. Knowing me I'd add a little extra kick with some vodka infused whipped cream on top. Oh man. I know what I'm serving for my next family gathering!
ReplyDeletei like the way you think with the vodka infused whipped cream!
DeleteI don't know which drink to try out first because they all sound so good. I'm kind of partial to the Irish Hot Whiskey, but I also love anything with chocolate or pineapple.
ReplyDeleteAll of these drinks sound like they would be delicious. I do not drink alcohol anymore and haven't for years but I plan on sharing these with my family.
