Frappe Maker and Barista Bar from Rose Art

Anyone that knows me, knows I love me some coffee, it’s no secret. Fallon sees that and often wants sips from it. When it’s an OK time, I allow it. I mean we are talking specialty Starbucks type coffee, so really more soy milk and sugar than anything else. So when I saw this Creative Café Barista Bar and Frappe Maker there was no way I was saying no, as I knew she would love it. With this she can make her own “coffee” and feel like an adult. Don’t worry, they aren’t really drinking coffee, it’s all for fun.

The Barista Bar is super simple, nothing to heat up and they get to use real milk (or milk sub of your choice).  The machine does come disassembled, but it’s only a few pieces so it only takes a few minutes to put together.

Since it does stir the milk, it does require 3 AA batteries so make sure you have a screw driver or a butter knife handy for that part.

The cutest part of the whole thing is the design molds. You put on top of the cup and sprinkle to create the design you want.

Tip: Creative Café Barista Bar comes with chocolate and strawberry mix, but only enough to make one or 2. I bought hot cocoa mix and strawberry mix to use after the supplied packets were used up and it works like a charm. I supervise the kiddos making it but really, they can do this on their own, I just make sure there isn’t any spilling and they don’t over pour. They really love to be independent. Fallon, and her friends love it, even little 4 year old Holden got in on the action and had a Mocha coffee like his big sister Hadley.

As far as cleaning goes. When you are done, I just get some warm soapy water in a glass and then pull the handle down and then rinse with clean water it a few times right away. That seems to work for me.

So if you have kids like mine that want to be like us and drink “coffee”, this could be perfect for them. Also being $30 or under, it’s a great gift idea

This is even cute than the Barista Bar and even simpler. You do have to have a littler forethought though. The one blue cup has to be in the freezer for about 12 hours (I just do overnight). Other than that, the directions are really simple.

  • Fill the cup with milk.
  • Then add 2 heaping spoons ( the spoon is attached to the straw) of mixture to the milk and stir.
  • As crystals form on the top you can stir. Can take about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the frappe into the other cup

Enjoy

You can play around with different flavors, combine them and really have fun. The kids had a blast with this. I even had a taste and while I prefer the real deal with coffee it wasn’t bad. I love that this is only $15.

Just like with the Barista bar you can use other mixes to make more when you run out of what they provided for you in the box. The options are endless. Have you gotten either one for your kids? If so, what did you think, please let me know.

Oh how fun! This would really help get the kids to drink up this summer. Awesome way to keep the kids well hydrated during the hot and humid summer season with their own fruit frappes and milk shakes!
