Tinsel and Tidings at Metropolis Resort

Charity and giving back is huge in my family, especially around the holidays. So, when we were asked to participate in the Tinsel and Tidings event this year at the Metropolis Resort (Action City) in Eau Claire, WI I couldn’t say no. It’s part of the Mighty Maddy Mission, a charity to help kids with pediatric cancer and it’s truly a great event that you can’t miss. If you are going to be around on Nov 23rd from 12pm-3pm please take the time and bring your family out. You won’t want to miss it. Check out the details below. Here are pictures from last years event.

Tinsel & Tidings will take place like I said above on Nov 23rd from 12pm to 3pm at the Metropolis Resort. You will be able to walk through decorated Christmas trees from area businesses. During the time they will be selling raffle tickets and doing a silent auction for the trees and gift baskets. Not only that there will be family activities like cookie decorating, hot chocolate bar, ornament making, live music and even a meet and greet with Santa and Mrs. Clause.

The proceeds from the silent auction go to Mighty Maddy Mission. Their mission is simple:

“Mighty Maddy’s Mission Strives to put smiles on the faces of children and families as they navigate the difficult journey of pediatric cancer.”

This year is the second year for Tinsel and Tidings, and they raised just over $6,000. This year they hope the weather will be much better and will raise even more. To do so, we need your help. We need you to come out and support the children.

During the year Mighty Maddy’s Mission has other events as well other than Tinsel & Tidings that helps local hospitals and patients everyday. Events such as:

When a child going through treatment ends up being admitted to the hospital or having a more invasive procedure at Marshfield’s Children’s Hospital, we have a cart that they can pick a toy from. Our hope is to provide them some comfort and a smile during the difficult stuff!

No Hair, Don't Care Celebration

Hair loss because of cancer treatment is a reality for many of these wonderful kiddos. We hope to flip this from a sad time to a time that instills a feeling of becoming a warrior and superhero as they journey through their quest of conquering cancer.

When a family is hit with the terrible news that their child has cancer it is completely devastating. With our New Diagnosis Baskets, we offer comfort items, amenities, and snacks as well as a resource document outlining helpful organizations and tips for the journey ahead.

Please if you can come out on Nov 23, do so. There may be a tree or gift basket that is perfect for your family. You never know what you can find. Not only that, my family and I will be there J We would love to meet you and say hi.

my family, look for us :)

It is so heartwarming to read about events and charities like these that help families having a child with cancer. It is devastating enough for an adult to go through with such disease, what more for a child who does not yet understand what is going on in their little bodies. I hope they get a huge turnout! I would be there in a heartbeat if I only lived close!
