Alex & Me Family Workout Helps kids get outside

Getting outside and getting exercise is important especially for kids. I Love that this weeks movie from #CampWarnerBros was Alex & Me Family Workout as it really encourages kids getting out and having some fun outside, this time being with soccer.

When I told Fallon the theme of this week she was really excited. She doesn’t really play soccer but softball so this was something newer for her to play around with.

One thing you can do to help keep the kiddos on track with drills is doing a print off sheet and writing down what they need to work on. Then they can mark off when they are done. Keeps them accountable and makes them proud of accomplishing a task at the same time.

We started off doing some basic jumping jacks, push-ups and such. Then after that I let her work with the ball more. That’s when she really felt like Alex and Reagan and had a fun time.

About Alex & Me:

Teenager Reagan Willis has one dream – to play soccer like her hero, Alex Morgan. Her bedroom is a shrine to all things Alex, including a life-size poster of the Olympic gold medalist. Yet in the Willis house, Reagan lives in the shadow of her prep football superstar brother, Logan. When Reagan fails to make the cut of the premiere local soccer club team and is humiliated by her rival Claire, she’s certain her ship has sailed. But after accidentally hitting her head, Reagan’s poster of Alex Morgan suddenly comes to life and everything changes!

The movie is super cute and teaches a bunch of lessons to the kids. It’s definitely worth checking out. You can buy on Blu-Ray and DVD or you can also download right now via Movies Anywhere.

  9. I need to try this with the kids. I'm just as bad as they are about not being active enough. Making it fun like this could be great for all of us.

  12. I actually did a lot of these when I was coaching my son's basketball team. It would be a fun change to do them again. Lately our workout has been in the swimming pool but this will be nice too!

  17. I didn't know Alex Morgan had a movie -- she's a great role model and purchasing/watching would help set some exercise goals in my household!

  19. I hadn't heard of this movie. I have 2 daughters that love soccer. It's so much easier to get them to practice every day (even though they love it they still need reminders to practice) with charts!
