3Doodler helps kids with their imagination

“Everything that now exists was once imagined. So, if you want something to exist, you must first be able to imagine it.” ~Wayne Dyer I recently read this quote and it really spoke to me. Imagination is so important for kids and their development. Fallon imagined a Sun that is Yellow on the inside, Purple on the outside and orange. So now that sun exists, with the help of 3doodler she made that happen.

We were sent the 3Doodler Start Essentials 3D Printing Pen Set. It’s perfect for kids as it’s for ages 6-13. The thing I like best is that it doesn’t have the hot outer parts that I’ve seen on some of the other 3D pens. This is a huge safety feature.

Fallon is 8 and it took her a minuet to get the hang of holding it but she got it. Now, I know you are looking at our very very colorful sun and it’s not the best thing that Van Gogh would have come up with, but we did our best. She’s 8, I helped her, and I personally think it’s cute.

The pen is super easy to use. Simply make sure it’s charged(micro USB), turn on, let it heat up, feed the plastic in and then press the button. It really is that easy. After that you just draw and build.

I do recommend adult supervision at first at least for the younger kiddos). With practice they will get better, just like anything else, it takes time.

One of the accessories that I recommend you getting is the 3Doodler Start DoodlePad as it’s perfect for drawing on. Anything you create will come right off the pad which is what you want without it breaking.

To make a name it’s really easy. First you want to write it in cursive. If you want your name to stand up then you need to make a line on the bottom the first letter and the bottom of the last letter and comment them together. Then make a like diagonal from the top to the bottom to connect those.  I make little balls at the connection points to secure them. The how to is inside the book as a nice refresher.

3Doodler also has a ton of options when it comes to plastic colors. The starter pack comes with some but it’s always a good idea to order more so you can get off to an even better start to creating projects. They are priced well at about $9.99 for 96 strands if you get the 4 packs. Take a look at all the different colors.

If the kiddos or you need help with ideas or practice 3Doddler has a great bootcamp go HERE that they created. You can print off sheets of what you need. If you buy the DoodlePad you can put that right on top of it and use it as a guide. That way you don’t have to print it over and over. Plus, that plastic won’t stick to the paper.

If you have kids of other ages, please take a look at their other pens and see if they might be a fit for them. You never know. With Covid happening and school this year and most of us are going to be doing some sort of distance learning or a combination of; it may be a good idea to have a 3Doodler. These are perfect for an art class.

Imagination is key for our kids. So let them run crazy with it and don’t hinder it. You never know what they will create. Do you have a 3D pen or if you would get one, what would you create?

  11. Van Gogh was 8 years old once and I bet his art wasn’t as good as Fallon’s! She did a great job. The pen looks super cool and the safety features are a plus.
