Domino Brown Sugar Cookies

Around Christmas time it’s not unusual for me to go through a few (ok more than a few) pounds of brown sugar, who and who knows how much regular sugar and flour. To say the least, I bake a lot. Baking calms me when I’m stressed and it helps that my friends and family love my cooking and baking. Good quality products make a dish live up to it’s potential. That’s why one of my favorite brands is Domino Sugar.

There are times when we want a treat during the holidays but I don’t have hours and hours to make one of my super elegant desserts. Cookies are always fun to make and a fun spin on a sugar cookie is to turn them into a Brown Sugar Cookie. Since this recipe doesn’t call for you chilling the batter you can make them even quicker. Check out the recipe below.

Domino Sugar Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon baking powder

1 tablespoon cornstarch

½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup unsalted butter (room temp, but not too soft)

1 ½ cup Domino light brown Sugar

1 egg

1 egg yolk

2 teaspoon vanilla

½ cup (aprox) Domino Golden Sugar or Granulated Sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350

Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch and sat in a medium bowl and set aside

Cream the butter and brown sugar on light speed until fluffy.

Add the egg and mix until it’s well combined

Add the egg yolk and vanilla and mix again

Add the flour mixture and mix until it’s combined, but make sure you don’t overmix

Using a 1 ½ tablespoon scooper create balls and gently roll them into the Golden Sugar

Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 7-9 minutes. If you use a scooper that is bigger or smaller you may have to adjust the time. They will be done when slightly golden on the edges.

Let cool on a wire rack.

Enjoy

As you can see these cookies are so easy to make and your family will love them. Mya is my picky eater, but she LOVES sugar cookies, like regular sugar cookies and brown sugar cookies are the only ones she eats.
