Did you know that September is Child Passenger Safety Month? I know that there is a month for everything, but this one is really important, as it has to do with our children. Britax is one of those companies that is always evolving to make sure our kids are as safe as possible. There are so many car seats out there and it’s hard to know which one is right. I get asked all the time on which ones I recommend. While I of course have my favorites, it really depends on what your needs are and your vehicle.

Portable "Car Seat" for kids from SaferRide 4 Kids
by:
Katrina Kroeplin

My children are often riding in cars that are not ours. Swapping car seats can be a pain, and more importantly risks not being installed correctly. I was actively look at solutions for my 4 year old that still kept her safe (she’s still too little for just a booster seat). When I saw Safer Ride 4 kids, I was intrigued. They recently sent us their RideSafer 2 for us to try out.

Diono Radian RXT Truly is the ONLY Car Seat You Will Ever Need and It Lasts for 10 years!
by:
Paige

Having three kids, we have went through a lot of car seats because you need to upgrade as your child grows! Now with three kids we are facing another another dilemma, how to fit all the car seats across the backseat of the car. That's when I heard about Diono Radian RXT. This car seat is amazing, because even though it is a wonderful convertible car seat, because of its slim style, you can fit three across in a standard car! It also grows with your child, and this is truly the only seat you will ever need. This is an amazing option for us, since we have one in a booster, one in a infant seat and my toddler in the Radian.
The Radian is also awesome because the seat folds up into itself (imagine a movie theater seat) so it is more compact and easy for travel. You can even buy shoulder straps to make transporting it easier too. The car seat is made of an all steel frame though so it makes it a bit heavy to carry, but makes it incredibly safe for our little ones!
Another important thing to note about the seat is that it is a seat that truly will last as your infant grows, and is the only car seat you ever need. Even though we have opted to use this seat with my 3 year old, our three month old daughter fits very well. As you can see in the picture, the seat is not installed in the car, but I just wanted to show how nicely she fits. She is about 13 pounds and 24 inches at this point. My three year old is about 40 inches and 48 pounds and it fits him perfectly, forward facing. This car seat can be used rear facing or forward facing and even be used as a booster for children 5 pounds to 110 pounds. This means that technically our 90 pounds 8 year old would fit in it as well! It also has a TEN year life, so this seat can truly be passed on to other children in your family rather than the very short 5 year life of many seats.

Diono Rainier Car Seat and Travel Pal
by:
Katrina Kroeplin

In my spare time, I am and owner/admin of a mommy group. I learn something everyday from them, and just love interacting with other moms. One of the topics we talk about at least a few times a week are car seats. What are the best ones, prices, features etc. Car seats are very important as they keep our children safe, so we need to know the most we can about them before we buy. Diono asked that I look at their Rainier car seat model.

Win a Safety First Boost-A-Pack for Your Holiday Travel Needs!
by:
Paige

My big boy is growing so fast that he will soon be out of the booster stage, but for now I am keeping him in one as long as I possibly can. I know it is the safety bet, even though he is 75 pounds now and 48 inches tall! It is crazy how fast my beautiful little seven year old boy has grown!
Many people do not realize the need for a booster for him since he is so big, so when he goes places with others, I find that sending him with his own booster is the smartest choice. This can sometimes be a hastle because he is still in a fairly bulky high back booster most days. Having to take the seat belt off the clip and carry the bulky thing to a friends car can be a pain, and do not even get me started on holiday travel!! Trying to transport a car seat or a booster seat on a plane is a borderline nightmare! I have actually asked my mother in law to just purchase a cheap or used booster seat for my son so that he has something when we get there, but we do not have to carry his. I have also rented one from a rental car company. The price for that is simply OUTRAGEOUS!! I think it was something like $15 a day! You can almost rent a car for that price.

Cosco Pronto Booster Seat Fits Child up to 100lbs and 57 inches Tall!
by:
Paige

I try to keep things real on this blog, and occasionally there are times that I review items that are out of my price range! While they are super nice, many times the price would hold me back from making the purchase if it were not for a review. I do LOVE it when I receive an item for review that is within my budget, and other struggling families budgets as well!
Trust me, I know that life is hard right now and money just seems to be getting tighter and tighter. At least, that is the way it seems for me. So when Cosco agreed to send me the Pront Booster seat, I was thrilled to check it out. At less than $40, it fits well within any families budget. My oldest is 72lbs and about 49 inches tall. I feel best keeping him in a high backed booster as long as possible, and since the Cosco Pronto goes up to 100lbs and 57 inches tall, I knew this one would fit him well.

Safety 1st Advance SE 65 Air Convertible Car Seat
by:
Katrina Kroeplin

There are so many car seats out there to choose from. I know when I was looking for ones it was so overwhelming with all the brands and options. Safety 1st asked if I would take a look at their Advance SE 65 Air Convertible car seat. I of course said yes as one of our seats was borrowed. We have 2 vehicles so 2 good seats is very much needed.
I want to note that this seat can both forward facing and rear facing. the forward facing can be used up to 65 pounds. Please check with your state laws for when you can turn your little one around.
