Safety 1st Advance SE 65 Air Convertible Car Seat

There are so many car seats out there to choose from. I know when I was looking for ones it was so overwhelming with all the brands and options. Safety 1st asked if I would take a look at their Advance SE 65 Air Convertible car seat. I of course said yes as one of our seats was borrowed. We have 2 vehicles so 2 good seats is very much needed.

I want to note that this seat can both forward facing and rear facing. the forward facing can be used up to 65 pounds. Please check with your state laws for when you can turn your little one around.

Fallon wanted to sit in it as soon as we took it out of the box which I found a little funny especially when she made sure I buckled it. This is not a small seat by any means and it’s heavy. The weight isn’t really an issue unless you are taking it in and out to put in another cars. I don’t recommend this because if you keep transferring it, you may not have it installed correctly each time. Having a car seat for each of your vehicles is so much easier and can be safer.

I really like the fact that you can put the seat into 4 different positions so that it fits better with your car. Also the no rethread harness is amazing. This makes it so much easier to adjust. If you have to re-thread you have to take the seat out of the car and almost apart and is so time consuming. With just a press of a button you can adjust the harness.

There are a ton of cushions all over this seat so your child can be comfortable. Most of our kids fall asleep in car, at least mine always do. With the SE 65 Air, Fallon’s head seems a lot more stable and not flopping around since she has something better to lean against.

Here are some great points for the Advance SE 65 Air Convertible car seat:

  • Super-extended weight range
  • Rear-facing 5-40 pounds
  • Forward-facing 22-65 pounds
  • Featuring Air Protect +
  • Air Protect® advanced cushion system protects your child’s head, where it’s needed most
  • GCell HX™ patented foam with hexagonal shapes inside the seat provides superior body protection
  • TOGETHER they provide full body side impact protection
  • Easy to identify color-coded belt paths and installation labels
  • Steel reinforced metal frame
  • 10-position headrest grows with your child
  • No re-thread harness
  • 4-position recline for optimal fit to your car
  • LATCH equipped
  • Integrated cup holder
  • Meets or exceeds Federal and ASTM Safety Standards

I would suggest if you have a small compact car you check out Safety 1st’s other options that may fit your car a little better. Other than the size, I love this car seat. I really like how much effort into comfort and safety that Safety 1st put into this product. At $189.99 this is an investment but it can be used for a long time and right away after birth so you will only need a booster seat, so that is a savings.

If you aren’t 100% sure on how to install your car seat please check with your local health department, police department or fire department to help install it for assistance. I know my mother in law went to the fire department and had them install a seat for her in her car.
