Let me just start by saying that my only choice for a Christmas tree is an artificial one. I am allergic to pine. Growing up in Northern Wisconsin in the middle of the woods was very difficult. What’s even worse is Christmas time. That’s because everyone has a real tree in their home. I am so allergic that just having a needle on me or smelling the tree (sap maybe) that I get migraines. Treetopia contacted me at the perfect time as our old tree broke (thanks to my dog) so we needed to get a new one anyway. So when they asked if they could send me one of their artificial trees, there was no way I was saying no.
I have to be honest, I wasn’t so sure about the No. 2 Pencil tree when I first looked at it, but it was very intriguing and I had never had a tree like it before. The No. 2 Pencil trees are well, like a No. 2 pencil, long and skinny. I was sent one of their 7.5 foot unlit trees. I choose unlit because I already have lights that would work for it.
My husband was about to take it out of the box and put it together when I told him he had to read the instructions. He did read them quickly, but then we realized that you don’t really need them. There are only 4 parts to the tree and one is the base. there are numbers on the parts but it’s pretty easy to figure out what goes where. Once put together all you have to do is the flewfing (that’s what Darin called it, pronounced flew fing). so really, from taking it out of the box, putting it together and then flewfing it was maybe 5 mins. To me that is amazing.

The No. 2 Pencil tree comes in a bunch of heights starting at 6 going to 9 feet. You can also get it unlit, clear lights or in colored lights. I like that there are many options. I prefer unlit since I have lights already, but that’s just me. If you don’t like the look of the No 2, Treetopia has many other styles, and i’m sure they have something you will like.
Like I said in the beginning, I am very allergic, and it is so bad that if my friends have real trees I can’t go over to their house nor can they come over to mind during the Christmas season. I can’t risk any pine coming into the house. I know it seems extreme, but that’s what I have gotten used to since I was little and we realized my allergy. So I really love when people have artificial trees. Price wise, yes you pay more at first, but in the long run you really do save money, and time from having to clean up and remembering to water the real tree, and hope that the animals don’t eat it. So if you are still looking for an artificial tree, I really recommend Treetopia.

I've don't know if I have allergies to real pin trees but we've always had an artificial Christmas tree. We take it out of the box once a year and when done, it goes back in the box, No dead/dried up pine to clean up. lol Maybe one day when we move into a bigger place I will try to get a real tree, but for now I'm with you and will enjoy my artificial tree
ReplyDeleteThat is perfect for apartments. I have a real tree, even though I am wicked allergic to it.
ReplyDeleteI have had real pine when I was younger.... I don't like it!! Those pine needles get in everything and you sweep them up for years. You have yourself a beautiful tree there... and no pine needles will drop.
ReplyDeleteWe use fake trees because I don't want to deal with the mess. This looks nice!
ReplyDeleteI just love the holiday festivity. So cheerful.
ReplyDeleteWe have an artificial one up this time. Our first time ever. My grandma had one when I was a child, and I don't ever remember sturdiness being a challenge, but the tree we have now won't hold heavy ornaments. Your tree is pretty, I like how narrow it is, that's fashion-forward. :)
ReplyDeleteWe've always used artificial trees. It's just so easy to disassemble and reuse year after year.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your allergies, it must be hard this time of year. I had never heard of a pencil tree but it is great for minimalist decor
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great and in addition to my real pine tree in my living room, I also have one that looks just like this one in our family room.
ReplyDeleteThis would be great for my daughter's friend who is living in an apartment. I will have to tell her about Treetopia!
ReplyDeleteIts perfect for an entryway or those that live in a small apartment. I may suggest this to my apartment dwelling friends.

ReplyDeleteI live in a small flat - we always struggle with where to put the tree, so one like this would be perfect! x
ReplyDeleteWith 7 of us we barely no room, this is a great solution to this time of the year! It is perfect for our home.
ReplyDeleteIt seems as if the skinny trees are "in" this year. I have seen so many of them. Amber N

ReplyDeleteOh I love it! I have always loved skinny trees. I think they are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI personally don't use a real tree either, you never know who may have allergies!
ReplyDeleteI don't use a real tree either, someone I know is allergic so I don't want to go and harm them!
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great tree if you do not have a lot of space. It would work great in my apartment. I have always used artificial trees.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute tree for a smaller space. It must be difficult for you to be allergic to line.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a lot of space for a Christmas tree in my living room, so a pencil tree like this is perfect. It's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger I could have real trees. As I got older I developed allergies. When I met hubs he was pretty upset he could no longer have a real tree. This tree is really cute.
ReplyDeleteThis is so unique, I love it! It's a tall, skinny tree and it looks gorgeous ith your decorations on it :)
ReplyDeleteWe always have our trusty artificial tree as well. Nothing wrong with that!
ReplyDeleteWe usually do real trees but they are a mess to clean up when the season is over. Also you have to worry about disposing it. I love your tree. I might go artificial next year.
ReplyDeleteI so need another tree but I love my trees to be fuller. This is to cute I can see using it in another room of my house.
