Happy Little Plants makes for perfect the snack

If your kids are anything like mine, then snacks are on the brain like immediately after a meal. It’s crazy how soon they will ask for one. I want to make sure my kiddos eat healthy, especially after the holiday season. When Fallon reaches for a bag of Happy Little Plants, I’m all for it, I don’t feel bad as I know she’s getting amazing ingredients and more importantly, protein first.

Take a Joy Break with joyböl

I’m a busy mom as I’m sure you are as well, but I still love to take a Joy break with my kiddos. One of those Joy breaks came when Fallon and I were running a full day of errands and we decided to stop at the park. I pretty much never leave home without some sort of snack bag (my kids would have my head if I forgot). One of the snacks inside that bag is a granola smoothie bowl from joyböl. Are you ready for a surprisingly delicious and easy breakfast, or anytime snack? Try Kellogg’s joyböl.

Who isn’t right? Check out our little joy break below and see how we had fun with joyböl.

Voortman Coconut Cookie & Pudding Cup

Not that long ago I was making Fallon’s class snack (dirt cups), and I really wanted one but all that sugar was definitely a big no for me.  I came up with a great way to make a similar version minus the worms. All you need is Voortman Cookies and some pudding.

Peanut Butter Candy Topped Apple Slices

When my youngest daughter Fallon was 2 years old she woke up and said “it’s Apple Party Day” I went, “umm what is that?”, but she kept saying it. So, I did what any parent would do. I turned it into a party day with everything apples, and we invited friends. This turned into an annual thing. She’s now 7 and we just had just had our 5th Apple Party Day. It keeps getting better and better. We go all out on food and decorations. This is a fun recipe that I wish I had thought of a week ago, as we so would have done it. Well, there is always next year. In any case, this is a fun snack that the kids will LOVE. Peanut Butter Candy Topped Apple Slices are fast easy and delish!!

Musselman’s Applesauce Empanadas

My family and I love applesauce. We love eating It plain, but even more on other food like pancakes or baking it into brownies to make them even more moist. I wanted to make some empanadas, and couldn’t decide what I wanted for the filling. So, I decided to use Musselman’s Cinnamon Applesauce. I really wish, I had thought of this sooner as they are so good, and so simple.

Homemade Bunuelos (Mexican Fritters)

I’m sure most of us have made elephant ears, or deep fried tortillas with cinnamon and sugar at some point. Bunuelos are similar to that, but so much better when homemade. They are easy to make, no “perfect” size, and if you want, you can use cookie cutters to make fun shapes for kids or holidays. These are great for breakfast, or just to snack on all day long.

Musselman’s Squeezables Sours are a great snack for everyone

I’m a mother of two girls. One is 13 and the other is 4, so their needs are very different. Seeing as one is a teenager, we are very busy and on the go a lot. I have made it no secret that I love whoever came up with the pouch idea for foods. It’s genius, I mean less messes, takes up less room, and the little ones don’t need help. So, yea genius! Applesauce is a favorite snack for Fallon. Applesauce can get messy, but thanks to pouches they aren’t. Recently Musselman’s sent us a few of their new Squeezables Sours line to try out.

Back to School Snacks

Now that school is well underway, and routines are set, I wanted to share a few different options for snacks for both after school, or school lunch, or really, whenever. For my family protein is a huge part of our diets, and our favorite snack is popcorn. So, these three options are big in our house.

#CraveFreely with Balance Bar new Flavors of Bars

This post was sponsored by Balance Bar, but opinions are 100% my own.
It will be 6 years in a couple weeks since I had gastric bypass surgery. Protein is the number one thing I need to worry about when it comes to WLS. It’s not always easy to find a protein bar that has nutrition, and satisfies the cravings. Balance Bar recently came out with a few new flavors that really do let us #CraveFreely.

Party Ready Salsa Wraps with Buddig Premium Meat

As we've discussed here, we love our Buddig Premium meat! We have enjoyed many recipes with it, but this is a new one I have been experimenting with!! In a couple of months its my daughters birthday party, and I am also giving my cousin a baby shower, so I am looking for different recipes to try. I have been experimenting with tortilla wrap sandwiches and just came up with my personal favorite!

Ingredients:
  • Tortillas
  • Buddig Premiums Roasted Turkey Breast
  • Cheese of choice- I am a fan of Provolone
  • Salsa Flavored Cream Cheese (the one I used was Winn Dixie brand)
  • Optional: Fresh Spinach or Romaine Lettuce for crunch
Instructions:
Spread the cream cheese on the tortilla, making sure to spread it on the outer edges so that the wrap will close. Then add a few slices of of the deli meat, and cheese and roll up. After you have it tightly rolled, cut into four pieces, trimming the edges off. Tada: Party Ready Food!!

Buddig Makes Summer Lunches So Much Better- Win a Lunch Kit!

School is out for summer, which means I have an incredibly hungry almost- 9 year old home now. His pre-school aged brother is pretty picky and eat about a handful of foods, so lunch is never an issue with him (it is literally one of two foods every single day!) His big brother is a little more difficult to feed and needs a wide variety of foods. Thanks to Buddig Premium Deli, they just increased my list...by a lot! My oldest does loves sandwiches and Buddig Premium Deli has helped me created some yummy ones for him! Buddig has a wide variety of premium sandwich meats that comes in six great flavors. What is even better is that they come in six ounce and one pound packages. I personally love the six ounce packages because they are perfect for a sandwich or two, so if you do not eat a lot of lunch meats, you can just a get a little, and eat it before it goes bad. I have even been known to take the 6 ounce packs with me as a little snack on the go. The flavors available are:

o Honey Smoked Turkey Breast
o Black Forest Ham
o Smoked Ham
o Smoked Honey Ham
o Oven Roasted Turkey Breast
o Rotisserie-Flavored Chicken Breast

Gerber Lil’ Beanies new Snack for Toddlers

This post is sponsored by opinions and thoughts are 100% mine

As our babies grow into toddlers the harder it can be sometimes to get them to eat a healthy snack. Gerber has come out with a great new snack for our little ones. It is a crunchy food, so use your discretion about that and make sure they can sit up on their own and have had solid foods already (perfect for toddlers).

Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches Perfect Mess Free Snack

Tracking Pixel
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tree Top

I am a mom of two, a three year old and a 13 year old. I just had major surgery last week and am having a lot of complications. I need to stay in bed so when my little girl needs a snack and wants to eat by me, I need it to be as mess free as possible. I’m so glad, seriously, so glad that Tree Top has these amazing Apple Sauce Pouches that are no mess and she can cuddle up next to me and still have a snack.

Amazing is a word I love to use, because, well it tells you how I really feel about it. So when I say these pouches are amazing, I (mostly) my toddler thinks so too. I did of course try the tropical flavor and it’s good. It’s made with apples, pineapple and orange juice, banana and passionfruit. Also just to note that apples is the very first ingredient.

Healthy Munchy Snacks

When you have a lot of kids who seem to be constantly hungry it can be hard to find snacks that they want to eat that are yummy, healthy and on-the-go.  As soon as my oldest two walk in the door from school, they want to eat! And I want them to have a healthy and nutritional snack.

Sprout Organics Orange Fruit and Carrot Cereal Snacks are a Wonderfully Nutritious "Grab and Go" Snack!

We have become such a busy family it is incredible, and things are just going to get crazier in the next two days because we are having another baby to add into the mix! We are almost always on the go, between appointments, extracurricular activities and just fun things we like to do. For this reason, I am always looking for convenient snacks that we can just grab and throw in my purse for my boys to eat as they get hungry. Sprout Organics has provided me with a wonderful new snack that is perfect for my purse, and healthy for my son too! It doesn't hurt that he loves it too! The Orange Fruit and Carrot Cereal snack is not too overly sweet, but has just enough sweet flavor that my little ones loves it! Of course, like all things from Sprout, it is organic too, so that makes Mama happy!

As Sprout Organics Says, their products are real. honest. pure. Who does not want to provide their children with foods that are those three things! I feel good about being able to give my babies (and toddler in this case) snacks that are healthy, tasty and nutritious, rather than some junk food that we can grab and go in our hurried, everyday life!

If you have an infant, Sprout Organics has a HUGE selection of Organic baby foods as well. They are made in convenient pouches so they are also perfect to grab and throw in your diaper bag as well for meals on the go! The variety is beyond amazing and you can get combinations like: green beans, peas and butternut squash or pumpkin, black bean, yogurt and spinach. So many healthy ingredients for your little ones to grab and enjoy while your busy family is on the go!

Baked Goat Cheese and Roasted Garlic

I seriously don’t know why it has taken me so long to make this. It gets better and better each time. My 12 year old requests it now. It has gotten to the point where we can’t NOT have goat cheese in the house in case on a whim she wants it and I can’t make it. I guess there could be worse things in life right? Anyway. This is super easy to make and really only takes a few ingredients.

Ingredients

garlic head
goat cheese log
thyme
extra virgin olive oil
cracker/tortilla chip/baguette etc

Roasted Garlic

Preheat oven to 400
peel part of garlic off and then chop the top off to reveal all the cloves
place garlic head in tin foil, drizzle extra virgin olive oil and fold tin foil creating a pouch
bake on a cookie sheet (or baking dish) for 40 mins

at the 25 min mark….

Baked Goat Cheese

preheat toaster oven to 325

  • roll or mix herbs into the goat cheese. I use thyme, but you can use any herbs you like
  • spread into a bake safe dish like corning-ware
  • bake for 15-20 mins
  • take out of oven and drizzle a little extra virgin olive oil on the cheese
  • take cracker, tortilla chip, baguette etc and place a little cheese and garlic on and enjoy!!

I hope you like it just as much as we do
